In an email announcement to friends, including yours truly, comedian Brad Garrett has canceled his plans for the Monday Night Live Radio Show from his new Tropicana Comedy Club. “The club has turned into something much more complicated than originally anticipated, so the broadcast will not be happening as previously announced. My apologies for the false start,” Brad said in the email.

The Monday night shows will remain the same, and the Tuesday Locals Night hosted by Spence from KLUC is kicking off next Tuesday as planned and will continue every week. The Everybody Loves Raymond star had planned a two-hour show after the club’s regular comedy showcase with two comedy interviews, a Strip entertainer and a local, non-showbiz personality. The broadcast were planned for KNXT 840 AM and 100.5 Jack FM.

Mary Ann Boxer

*Sports photographer Mary Ann Boxer couldn’t ask for a better last name! The Henderson resident has been photographing sports stars for many years with a particular focus on the fight scene. She recently published Extraordinary Women in the Ring, and fans and fighters -- including Oscar de la Hoya, Bernard Hopkins and “Sugar” Shane Moseley” -- have been celebrating its release and boosting its sales.

*Fashion Show and The Shoppes at The Palazzo have been designated as official Las Vegas participants in Fashion’s Night Out, a collaboration among Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York. Fashion’s Night Out objectives include celebrating fashion, restoring consumer confidence, boosting the fashion industry economy and putting the fun back in shopping. The full listing of events from Sept. 8-12 can be found on Fashion Show and The Shoppes’ Web sites.

*To mark the doubling of size of the new Cartier store at Caesars Palace’s Forum Shops, 100 priceless and magnificent jewels and timepieces known as The Carter Precious Jewelry & Timepiece Collection will be on display there through Aug. 30. Also check out new designs in the Trinity and Love collections.

*Incidentally, an only-in-Las-Vegas note while shopping at Forum Shops: Stop by Kids Kastle. It’s the only place I know of on Earth where you can buy toddler- and kid-sized versions of Elvis Presley’s white sequined jumpsuit with a pair of gold sunglasses. It’s exactly what The King wore in his 1970s shows at The International, now the Las Vegas Hilton. The teeny tiny outfit is $98.
