Six years ago today, before fans of fangs worldwide embraced Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries, the erotic, adult vampire revue Bite debuted at the Stratosphere. Mixing rock’s greatest hits, a live singer, one scary, blue-eyed vampire and his coven of topless temptresses, choreography and acrobatics, Bite stood out from its half-dozen topless competitors on The Strip.
“Bite is one of the best surprises of Las Vegas. Luckily, we were five years ahead of the curve for thinking vampires are hot,” said Tim Molyneux, Bite’s producer and creator, in a press release. “One of my goals when coming to Las Vegas was to create something that had not been done here before. I was surprised that in 100 years of Las Vegas entertainment, no one had thought of doing a vampire show. It just seemed so natural to me.”
Bite is the story of Lord Vampire’s quest for the perfect female to seduce and crown his Queen of the Night, and assisting him are the Erotic Angels of Rock, his coven of blood-sucking beauties. The show by Molyneux , whose credits also include concert work with Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith and Joe Nichols, has been hailed as must-see, superior and genius.
The current cast of Bite is Lord Vampire (Russell Hines), Queen of the Night (Jessica Delgado), Cat Vamp (Anna Van Sambeck), Tush Vamp (Tiffany Green), Ice Vamp (Colette Harris), Fire Vamp (Jackie Ibarra), Pain Vamp (Kim Langstaff, who also is the dance captain), Shimmy Vamp (Anne Marie Arpaio), Silk Vamp (Kelly Jo Millaudon), Flying Couple (Cees De Kok, who also is the company manager, and Cathy Perquin, who also is the costumer) and Rock Star (Mark Giovi). De Kok and Perquin have been with Bite since Aug. 13, 2004.
The ladies steal the show with their alluring moves, and Ice’s gymnastics and ballet draw rousing applause. Giovi’s vocals are truly rock star, and Lord Vampire also throws unexpected magic into the mix. Warning: The vampire vixens walk into the audience throughout the show, as one muscle-bound audience member discovered sitting next to his girlfriend during Tuesday night’s performance -- he nearly jumped out of fright into the arms of the stranger -- a guy -- sitting next to him!

Bite is at The Theater of the Stars Showroom at the Stratosphere nightly at 10:30 except Thursdays. The first 500 guests to attend the sixth anniversary show tonight receive complimentary fangs and a glass of champagne.
Vegas DeLuxe congratulates Bite on its sixth anniversary, and here’s to many more to come.
