Contributing photographer Tom Donoghue was on duty for Hippiefest at the outdoor events plaza and pool at The M Resort over the weekend and, along with shooting a photo gallery for Vegas DeLuxe, reported the rockin’ scene.

“If you missed the show, you missed a great trip back in time,” Donoghue said.

Badfinger, with Joey Molland, sang “If You Want It ... Come and Get It,” “No Matter What,” “Baby Blue,” “Day After Day” and “Can’t Live Without You”; Rare Earth sang “Get Ready (Cuz Here I Come),” “I Just Want to Celebrate” and “Hey Big Brother”; and Mitch Ryder performed “Devil With a Blue Dress,” “Good Golly Miss Molly,” “Jenny Take a Ride,” “Latin Lupe Lu” and “Midnight Hour.”

Cream, with Jack Bruce, performed “Crossroads,” “Sunshine of Your Love,” “I’m So Glad” and “White Room,” and War, with Lonnie Jordan on vocals, belted “Cisco Kid,” “All Day Music,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “Summer,” “Slippin’ Into Darkness,” “Run Together,” The World Is a Ghetto,” “Low Rider and “Spill the Wine.”

“Hippiefest was a night of great, great music,” Donoghue concluded.
