The fun, photo shoots and public appearances are mostly over now for the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant contestants as the competition begins to crown the successor of Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela on Monday night.
The 83 hopefuls are in the throes of the crucial judges interviews, and tonight is the first of the preliminary contests. Vegas DeLuxe reported pageant owner and billionaire Donald Trump’s announcement of the panel of judges yesterday, which includes Luxor headliner Criss Angel, supermodel Nikki Taylor, Olympic figure skating gold medalist Evan Lysacek and actor, writer and producer William Baldwin.
The contestants are competing in three categories: swimsuit, interview and evening gowns. Ahead of the interviews and preliminaries, the beauty queens attended Cirque du Soleil’s Viva Elvis at Aria on Tuesday night; the Viva Elvis cast is performing during the pageant telecast.
Their itinerary also included a little down and fun time at Adventuredome at Circus Circus, fashion appearances for MAGIC Fashion Week and recording segments for Monday’s telecast airing live on NBC.
Check back to Vegas DeLuxe tomorrow for continuing coverage of the Miss Universe Pageant leading up to Monday night’s main event at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
