In case it isn’t already crystal clear that Lady Gaga has taken over the world, the singer-songwriter and provocateur overtook Britney Spears yesterday as the Twitter user with the most followers. By yesterday afternoon, per Billy Johnson Jr. of That’s Really Week, Lady Gaga had 5,670,779 followers, eclipsing Spears’ 5,668,825.

FameCount.com lists former titleholder Ashton Kutcher in 3rd place with 5,542,023, The Ellen DeGeneres Show with 5,053,073 and President Barack Obama in 5th with 5,003,469.

Lady Gaga, who brought her Monster Ball Tour to MGM Grand Garden Arena last weekend and reportedly has been recording at Studio at the Palms, also has become the social media queen on Facebook. In the first week of July, she moved ahead of Obama as the living person with the most fans. Her number of Facebook supporters has increased to more than 16 million in two months.

The two titles must be consolation for trailing the race with Justin Bieber on YouTube she once led. His “Baby” video featuring Ludacris has amassed 245,746,720 views vs. Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” with 245,493,709 streams.
