UFC fans here in Las Vegas will only get to watch via television tomorrow fights they wanted to see in person because they’ll be broadcast from Boston.
UFC 118 features boxing icon James Toney making his MMA debut against our hometown hero the legendary Randy Couture, who stars in Sylvester Stallone’s box office hit The Expendables, which had a red carpet premiere at Planet Hollywood.
UFC 118 also is the long-awaited rematch for B.J. Penn against Frankie Edgar after he lost his lightweight title in a stunning UFC 112 upset. Another local name, Kenny Florian, battles Gray Maynard for the next top lightweight contender spot, and Rousimar Palhares takes on Nate Marquardt.

You can eat, drink and watch these battles with celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse at his Stadium Sports Book & Bar in the Palazzo, the only one of its kind on The Strip.
Many of the major casino resorts, including The Rio’s Crown Nightclub, also are featuring the explosive fights. Because it’s live, viewing time starts here at 6 p.m. After UFC 118, Crown is hosting Girls of Lowrider, where the ladies strut their stuff, and one wins a pictorial in Lowrider magazine.
Check out the smart, savvy and skilled analysis of UFC 118 on LasVegasSun.com by our colleague Brett Okamato on assignment in Boston.
