Tropicana’s extensive renovation to a South Beach theme took another step last week with the grand opening of Biscayne Steak, Sea and Wine restaurant. The new eatery is actually in a familiar space on the hotel’s mezzanine level, in the spot that was formerly occupied by Legends steakhouse.
Promised are premium steak, fish and a wine wall laden with more than 500 bottles of world-class vino. Tom Recine, the hotel’s director of food and beverage, headed up the makeover.
In attendance were officials and consultants for the under-construction Mob Experience, scheduled to open in December in the hotel’s pavilion area. Mob Experience head Jay Bloom and consultants/family members Antoinette Giancana (daughter of Sam Giancana), Millicent Rosen (daughter of Ben “Bugsy” Siegel) and Jan Sachs (widow of Al Sachs) enjoyed the festivities.
