Photo Gallery: Mayor models swimwear(!) at Wynn luncheon

It was an enthusiastic, yet sedate arrival for The Nanny star Fran Drescher on the red carpet, but our Merry Mayor of Mirth Oscar Goodman really made a splash with his entrance at the start of The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas’ charity fashion show wearing not much more than a pair of Vilebrequin swim trunks, a hoodie and a towel!
For a 70-year-old chief executive, Oscar looks ready to take on President Obama in the latest furor involving the president bashing Las Vegas and creating a mass denunciation earlier this week from even his supporters Sen. Harry Reid and Congresswoman Shelley Berkley. “Lay off Las Vegas,” Harry yelled. It looks as if Oscar is ready for three rounds, and he’s already told the president that he’s not welcome here anymore.
Fortunately, Oscar was still able to carry his martini for support and strength as the ladies that lunch gazed upon his mayoralty! It was all for fun and fundraising at the annual Women’s Philanthropy United Luncheon yesterday at the Wynn to benefit The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, where actress, author and lobbyist Fran addressed the generous gift-giving ladies.
Fran appeared at the luncheon and wore more than $500,000 worth of jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels. She spoke of her battle to beat cancer, her Jewish upbringing and how it parlayed into her most famous role on The Nanny. More than 300 women attended the luncheon.

The fashion show opened with Oscar sporting swim trunks and a T-shirt that read “Alpha Male” courtesy of the Wynn Esplanade shops. Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on duty for this out-of-the-ordinary photo gallery!
