It was at 2 a.m. early today when the charter Air Trans jet touched down safely in Las Vegas with its precious cargo of 17 international supermodels led by new Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover girl and bikini beauty Brooklyn Decker.
Despite the late night/early morning arrival, the swimsuit sensations are up already preparing for the 10 a.m. official welcome by Mayor Oscar Goodman at the volcano of The Mirage where they are staying.
The 2010 swimsuit models are cover girl Brooklyn, who is married to tennis star Andy Roddick, Sonia Dara, Cintia Dicker, Zoe Duchesne, Esti Ginsburg, Jessica Gomes, Julie Henderson, Damaris Lewis, Genevieve Morton, Julie Ordon, Dominique Piek, Bar Refaeli (who was last year’s cover girl), Hilary Rhoda, Irina Shayk, Christine Teigen, Anne V and Jessica White.
Swimsuit Edition Editor Diane Smith also made the flight with The Sports Illustrated Group President Mark Ford. Our story predicting Brooklyn as the new cover girl was posted last week, and David Letterman announced the official reveal on his CBS show on Monday night.
We’ll have updated photographic coverage throughout the day here at Vegas DeLuxe as the supermodels make appearances at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in the Flamingo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., attend a poker tournament at noon in The Mirage and pose for photos at the new Garden of the Gods pool at Caesars Palace.
Then tonight, I’ll be at Jet in The Mirage, which will be transformed into a series of backdrops re-creating the exotic foreign tropical locations of the various photo shoots with the girls in Asia and the Caribbean.
