Photo Gallery: Black Satin’s Booty Parlor shakes things up at the Wynn

There’s no disguising it. There, right in the open, it lies ready to spring into action. Gleaming and glistening in hot pink flesh colors, just an on switch away from the throbbing, pulsating joys it promises. It comes with 12 hot-pink authentic Swarovski crystals to give the handle added sparkle. The pink feathery accessory easily clips off to be used in tickle tandem with the experience.

I’m looking at the $300 Minx lying, waiting in a gorgeous gift box and wondering aloud if hotel mogul Steve Wynn has a new slogan in mind, promising his resort casino guests “New Heights of Pleasure.” There’s no other way to say it, but this is an absolutely perfect Only in Vegas moment: one of the world’s best and most expensive vibrators is now on sale at Steve’s play palace. Not only that, but there’s a host of other sex toys available, too, including a magic wand that you plug into an iPod or iPhone for power -- and music for lovemaking. I don’t get the vibrating couples ring condom. I need somebody to enlighten me because I just couldn’t bring myself to ask the salesgirl!

Welcome to Steve’s Black Satin boutique of ladies lingerie with its Booty Parlor store within a store. Booty is the dream creation of co-founder and sexy-lifestyles expert Dana B. Myers, who is about to publish her book Mojo Makeover. “I can teach any woman to be sexier,” she proudly said while showing me the love kits that include hook-up ankle and wrist cuffs, blindfolds and vibrating panties. They’re apparently featured in many of the world’s leading hotels and spa retreats as a room service item alongside the bar.

Dana says she’s honored to be partnered with Steve, as her business is “the beauty parlor for your love life when you want to go beyond dinner, flowers and chocolates. I teach them first how to be more comfortable about sex , being open about it, expressing their physical and emotional needs, and then showing them how to feel glamorous and sexy,” she added.

The ladies at last night’s champagne preview of the temptress toys and trinkets were thrilled at every moment -- I would say squealed but have a fear that our editor might exorcize that description. There was no shortage of girls ooh’ing and aah’ing as they filled out confessional cards describing their best sexual experience to date and the favorite fantasy they’d still like to fulfill.

We could have filmed 10 episodes of a reality TV show right there, and then that would have been so X-rated, the ratings would have burst like a train roaring into a tunnel or a rocket ship blasting off for outer space. Ah, the imagery! Nobody seemed to mind I was talking to the owners leaning against rows of unmentionable underthings in every color of the rainbow. I didn’t blush, but I did refuse the pretty photographer her request to take my photo holding the mighty Minx.

Instead, Dana and I held up a “Don’t Stop” candle for a photo. She was nice enough to explain to me: “It comes in what looks like a cream pourer. It burns at only 1 degree above body temperature, so it allows you to explore the hot wax fantasy with your partner -- but it turns to a body oil so you can easily massage each other.”

I’ve heard that Steve knows absolutely everything that goes on in his properties, from the gaming drop to the Garth Brooks ticket sales to Paul Bartolotta and Alex Stratta’s menu pricing. So tongue firmly planted in cheek, I tried to get the folks there to answer my questions: “Does Steve know he’s selling these? Does Elaine pop in to check on sales? Can Steve get the employee discount? Did Steve want to be the first Vegas Strip hotelier with this late-night party emporium of eroticism? (Yes, I know Love Jones at the Hard Rock Hotel has all “the goodies,” too, but Agent Provocateur at Caesar Palace’s Forum Shops and the Victoria’s Secrets and Frederick’s of Hollywood aren’t inside a casino and don’t feature the goodies.)

When the official answer stumbled out in a mumble, I was assured that Steve knew what his Black Satin store featured, but the elegant, unfazed spokeswoman quickly added: “Tonight, they’re all out front on show for this preview, but normally it’s only lingerie in the front and the goodies remain in the back Booty Parlor.”

I breathed a sigh of relief knowing Steve wouldn’t have to be exposed to the mighty Minx on his daily walk to his nearby office. There are just some mornings when you want to concentrate on the profits and not the pleasures!
