Tiger Woods returns to the spotlight on Friday

From my Twitter account beginning about noon today:

Huge breaking news! Tiger Woods breaks his silence with Friday 11 a.m. news conference at PGA headquarters in Florida. More later. His agent says he will apologize for his behavior and discuss his past activities and plans for his future.

Tiger’s plan is to speak to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates without answering any reporters’ questions. However, a press pool will attend. His agent says: “Tiger feels as though it’s time to make amends and to publicly do that.”

His agent says Tiger has taken some recovery steps. Watching closely as this develops. We’ll see if Tiger Jam goes back on the schedule at Mandalay Bay. If it happens and Tiger tells all and his apologies are accepted, it will end 86 days of silence and mystery since the Thanksgiving scandal broke.

It all began with the National Enquirer story of the affair with Tao Las Vegas hostess Rachel Uchitel and unleashed a torrent of love claims from 18 others. Many numerous Las Vegas connections, so interesting to ask what will pit bull lawyer Gloria Allred do now for the girls when Tiger fesses up!

If Tiger confesses all candidly about the women and his actions as part of the recovery program, expect shocking and startling revelations. If press pool can’t ask Tiger questions, he should know that he’ll still be hounded to answer them once he’s back playing golf. Format won’t solve it.

More Tiger: One pool camera OK’d for live satellite TV. Three wire service reps invited, and Golf Writers Assn. of America to pick reporters to attend. “This will not be a press conference,” states Tiger’s agent. It clashes with former sponsor Accenture’s Phoenix match championship.

Some of my TV friends already predicting the 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT Tiger torrid tales reality show will be largest ever ratings in TV history! Tiger’s very own Web site release. Nothing yet about Tiger Jam at Mandalay Bay.
