Hot off the grill! When you’re still going strong after three years, it’s time to celebrate in style, and that’s exactly what celebrity owner chef Steve Martorano is doing now through March 5 at his Zagat Guide top-rated Cafe Martorano in The Rio. In honor of the third anniversary, Martorano’s is offering a three-course Tastes of South Philly for $33.

“I can hardly believe that my namesake restaurant has been open at The Rio for three years, giving our loyal customers a one-of-a-kind dining experience,” Steve said. “When you’re looking for home cooking and great music, Martorano’s delivers. It is an experience combining exceptional food and extraordinary music you’ll never forget.”

Kuldeep Singh's Dinner for the James Beard Foundation

Chef Kuldeep Singh from Origin India Restaurant was invited to cook for a sold-out crowd at the legendary James Beard House in New York City. The theme for the evening was “Modern, Refined Indian,” and chef Singh’s upscale cuisine dishes included roasted tomato rasam soup with tomato foam, steamed spicy crab momo with lemongrass, marinated barramundi fillet with tomato risotto, slow-braised nihari curry with lamb and pan-fried masala duck with mixed peppers, jalfrezi curry with baby corn and ajowan-scented bread.
