The NASCAR Nationwide Series Sam’s Town 300 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was yesterday’s main attraction of NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas. Contributing photographer Erik Kabik was onsite before the race and photographed driver Danica Patrick, Luxor headliner Carrot Top and Danica’s interview with Jerry Punch of ESPN.

Carrot Top served as crew manager for driver Mike Wallace, and Erik also photographed the Carroll Shelby GT pace car and Mike Bliss’s #36 Kim Kardashian Sephora perfume car. The Sam’s Town 300 winner was driver Kevin Harvick, and Danica finished in 36th place after a crash with driver Michael McDowell. Our Las Vegas Sun colleagues covered the Sam’s Town 300 yesterday.

Meantime, contributing photographer Tom Donoghue was on the scene when racecar stars Kurt Busch, David Gilliland, Jason Keller, Tony Raines and Travis Kvapil and fans mixed and mingled at meet-and-greets at Bally’s, Harrah’s and Planet Hollywood.
