Photo Gallery: It’s a midnight kiss for Tony and Eva Longoria Parker @Eve

They hugged, kissed and smooched some more like newlyweds to welcome the new decade. Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker and her San Antonio Spurs star husband Tony Parker are head over heels in love and didn’t leave each other’s arms for a split second as 2009 ended and 2010 began.

Eva played hostess for the official grand opening gala night of her Eve nightclub that sits atop her just-opened restaurant Beso in the shopping palace Crystals at MGM’s CityCenter. Her BFF Mario Lopez and his girlfriend Courtney Mazza were right alongside for the 10 to 1 countdown.

I joined them in their VIP section, as did our contributing photographer Erik Kabik, who shot this wonderful photo gallery. Erik and I agreed that the very cute couple couldn’t have looked happier or more in love.

Eva even playfully polished Tony’s shiny bald head! They kissed and toasted at the midnight hour and, after welcoming in the New Year, watched the spectacular fireworks from Eve’s windows as they were fired off from Aria’s rooftop.

Eve was packed, and Beso below and its outdoor patio were all turned into one happening hotspot for the party. Not even Aria’s intermittent fire alarm problems that caused the cancellation of Cirque du Soleil’s Viva Elvis preview show interfered with the party.

My longtime pal Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard was there in the VIP booth behind Eva and Tony with his usual battalion of beauties. Mario gave me a midnight thumbs-up sign and said he’s looking forward to returning to Las Vegas at the end of the month for his Miss America Pageant hosting duties.

It was a 48-hour, two-night, smash-hit opening for Eva’s chic hangout. Eva’s gal pal reality TV star Kim Kardashian had hosted a party at Beso the previous night. Overnight, Eva has become the belle of the ball and the toast of the town -- she is the newest star power on the Strip.

In fact, US Weekly even had a reporter asking me about Eva’s contributions to Las Vegas. I said the world’s media have already tipped that Eva, Holly Madison and the celebrity chefs were helping put our darkest days of the global recession behind us. I said: “Eva has already lit up the new Vegas nightlife scene as our newest party princess. She’ll be Queen of the Strip by the end of this long holiday weekend.”

Eva summed up: “It was an absolutely great night, a fabulous opening with everybody having the best time possible. This is Las Vegas at its best. I wish everybody peace and love and as much happiness as we both share with each other.”
