Counter Intelligence: Ferraro’s Italian opens near the Hard Rock Hotel
By Robin Leach
Ferraro's signature osso bucco is so tender, you can cut it with a fork.

Hot off the grill! After 25 years off Strip on the west side, restaurateur Gino Ferraro has opened Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar with an expanded menu, wine cellar and 80 employees at a new space opposite the Hard Rock Hotel. In the just-opened restaurant, Gino has two chef’s dining tables, a 36-foot-long wine cellar of 10,000 Italian and California wines and a double-sided wine bar open to the indoor bar area and outdoor patio.
The main dining area and four banquet rooms can open to accommodate as many as 480 patrons. Executive Chef Mimmo Ferraro features the menu staples that have been a family tradition for years and won them the Distinguished Restaurants of North America Award 10 consecutive years and a 5-Star Diamond Award.
Sushi Samba in the Palazzo.
*The weekly Sake-oke event at Sushi Samba in the Palazzo is now on the hunt for a superstar sake-oke singer. Starting next Wednesday and continuing through May 2, each performance will be videotape and uploaded to YouTube for the world to vote for their favorite. The winner receives a trip to the Sushi Samba location of their choosing in New York, Miami or Chicago. Meantime, participants get a free cocktail just for singing, and all sake is 20 percent off.
Daniel Boulud.
*Wynn restaurateur and star chef Daniel Boulud is creating a stir with his latest New York mobile kitchen on wheels. For Restaurant Week in the Big Apple starting Feb. 8, he will have a food truck tour Manhattan streets serving delicacies and promoting his fine dining establishments. Maybe we’ll see that concept here?
