Strip Scribbles: Pure hosts finals of Penthouse pageant
By Robin Leach
Penthouse Pet of the Year Taya Parker.
It’s appropriate that the finals of the Penthouse magazine contest at Pure in Caesars Palace culminate this weekend of the sex-filled Las Vegas nightlife scene. Taya Parker, 2009 Penthouse Pet of the Year, selected the finalists in the November and December preliminary rounds. Tonight, it all comes down to one winner who is prepared to bare everything to win a prized Penthouse shoot with a guarantee that no less than one of those images will wind up in the pages of the magazine.
Finalists will be selected by a panel of industry experts and will be judged on presentation, looks, energy, excitement and audience appeal. You’ll find the finalists camped at the Luxor enjoying dinner at Company Kitchen & Pub House before the competition.
“We are thrilled to be conducting this contest to look for a Penthouse magazine model,” said Michael Gilmartin, PR director for Pure. “It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for one lucky winner.”

Star surveillance
Actress Brooke Shields, one-time wife of Las Vegas hometown hero Andre Agassi, had a two-hour massage and soaked in the Hammam room at Drift spa in George Maloof’s Palms Place. She followed it with a manicure and pedicure at hair king to the stars Michael Boychuck’s Primp salon there. … Veteran comedian Norm Crosby will be the first star to debut in the new Las Vegas Rocks Cafe showroom downtown on Fremont Street on Jan. 30. … Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban hung out at the Bunny Bar drinking Miller Lite in The Playboy Club at the Palms. … America’s Most Wanted star John Walsh will lead a celebrity contingent including Alice Cooper, Davy Jones, Cheech Marin, Richard Burgi and Emmy winner Bryan Cranston to the Bellagio for the 11th annual red carpet reception of the Canon USA-sponsored National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Others attendees include Matt Goss, Grandma Lee, Angelica Bridges, astronaut Walt Cunningham, Natalie Gulbis, Kevin Sorbo and our Jersey Boys star Rick Faugno. The fundraiser presented by Canon for its customers attending CES will feature music, live and silent auctions and fine cuisine. There also is a celebrity golf tournament tomorrow morning. Please support the effort that Canon has been onboard for since 1997. … Four MLB stars made it a home run at last night's Sharp Electronics CES convention party in XS at Steve Wynn’s Encore. World Series champion and New York Yankees star pitcher Joba Chamberlain was joined by Milwaukee Brewers slugger Prince Fielder , Los Angeles Angels veteran center fielder Torii Hunter and Detroit Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello.
Now it’s time for us to focus on the few nightlife highlights this weekend, as CES 2010 and AVN host dozens of other events. It’s our snap-happy package we click to affectionately around here as the ROYAL ROBIN RUNDOWN:
Fox's New Year's Eve 2009 telecast Billboard's New Year's Eve Live at Mandalay Bay Beach included Carmen Electra, Sean Kingston, Allison Iraheta and, pictured here, Kris Allen.

*To celebrate what would have been Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday, special guests, friends and co-stars of the King will join Johnny Fortunato and the Stamps at the Cannery for two nights.
John Legend.
Saturday, Jan. 9
*Music superstar with an oh-so-appropriate surname John Legend performs and hosts at Haze in Aria for his birthday.
*Songwriter Roy Rivers might well look and sound just like John Denver, but he’s an accomplished singer in his own right. He’ll perform tribute performances for two nights at the Suncoast Showroom.
*The Elvis birthday weekend continues with a salute by tribute artists Dennis Wise at the Santa Fe Station Chrome Showroom.

Party patrol
Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari of The Hills and Laguna Beach will host and celebrate her 23rd birthday at Eva Longoria Parker’s new Eve nightclub atop her restaurant Beso in Crystals at CityCenter. … Kristy Swanson will celebrate her 40th birthday at LAX in the Luxor and promises to show some of her moves on the dance floor. … Shortly after midnight, Hawaiian Tropic Zone at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile will unveil an official Resident Evil chopper by Savage Cycles. Based on the science-fiction horror video games developed by Capcom, the rare bike is the only one of its kind and features iconic images from the popular series. Sexy zombie models will be on hand with DJ Sincere.
