The guest list for yesterday’s open house grand opening of Planet Hollywood’s PH Towers Westgate included Mayor Oscar Goodman and his colorful showgirls; Westgate Resorts President and CEO David Siegel, who flew into town from Florida; Planet Hollywood Worldwide Resorts President Bill Feather; 2009 Miss America Katie Stam; the 2010 Miss America Pageant contestants, including our 2010 Miss Nevada Christina Keegan; and Holly Madison, the star of Planet Hollywood’s Peepshow.

Goodman presented Siegel with a key to the city, and Stam did the honors of cutting the official ribbon for the 52-story glass tower that includes 28 penthouses and more than 1,200 suites. Our contributing photographers Tom Donoghue, Erik Kabik and Scott Harrison were all onsite for the occasion to bring you more than 100 photos, and our loyal Vegas DeLuxe reader Richard Corey captured video that he posted on YouTube.

Siegel ended his presentation with a promise to Madison to give her a personal tour of a penthouse condo suite on the top 60th floor. Tours of four- and two-bedroom condo suites with astonishing views of the Strip were available during the celebration.

“We’ll see you at the next grand opening,” Feather concluded.

After the ribbon cutting

The 53 Miss America Pageant hopefuls will be competing for the 2010 title and crown today at the Theater for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood; Stam became engaged to Brian Irk, her boyfriend of four years, at the Evening of Dreams gala after the ribbon cutting; and Planet Hollywood is the setting of Madison’s new E! reality TV series Holly’s World.
