“This is way beyond weird -- it is sick -- it is scary. I am being stalked by somebody who has taken on my identity and is fooling people thinking he is me!”

Comedy kingpin Brad Garrett is angry -- rightfully so -- and he told me today that he’s had his lawyer go to the District Attorney’s Office and criminal detectives to hunt down the impostor and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.

“Two days ago, I triggered the legal machinery to really go after this person. He’s even called ticket brokers about my new Comedy Club shows at the Tropicana. He’s sent out dozens of fake Twitter messages pretending to be me and saying things I’d never say. But he’s fooling everybody into thinking it’s really me.”

Brad talked with me at The Rio before he walked the red carpet in support of Don Cheadle and Anne Duke’s charity poker tournament Ante Up for Africa to raise awareness and funds for humanitarian aid in the Darfur, Sudan, conflicts.

“Robin, please tell everybody this story -- on your own Twitter and at Vegas DeLuxe. We’ve got to get him shut down and stopped. It’s been going on for far too long. I tried to get Twitter to stop it, but so far they haven’t taken any action for me. Hopefully now you and your Twitter followers can stop it getting worse.”

So I ask all of you who follow me on Twitter to come to Brad’s rescue. Support Brad’s request and report the impostor -- Badd Garrett -- to Twitter and stop his communications.

Brad said he doesn’t use Twitter now because of the impostor. “Badd Garrett is not me -- never has been me.” Brad added. “It’s scary because we know he even has photos of my family. It’s sick because he somehow knows my every move.

“It’s really intensified since I announced the new Comedy Club at the Tropicana, and this week with our premiere and first week’s run of shows. It all indicates he’s right here in Vegas and may even have been to the show on the first or second night when you were there, Robin.

“He behaves as if he is me and has Twitter conversations with people as if he was me, and they all think it is me. It is not me. He is a total phony. It is not funny. It is really upsetting and causing me great emotional stress and concern.

“We’ve got all the legal and police machinery now moving forward to end this once and for all.”
