Dozens of NBA stars and court heroes arrive in Las Vegas today for tomorrow’s start of the 2010 NBA Summer League. Eleven of the teams appeared in this season’s playoffs, and there will be 23 teams playing a 58-game schedule over 10 days, including a team of NBA D-League stars for the second consecutive year.

Games will be played at Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion, and this year’s event features the Washington Wizards, who won the top overall draft pick. Other participating teams with top five selections in this year’s draft include the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Sacramento Kings, owned by Las Vegas’ Maloof family.

Among the teams here for all the action on and off the court are the reigning champion Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors.

The first four games tomorrow are at Cox Pavilion, with Denver Nuggets vs. Dallas Mavericks at 1 p.m., Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns at 3 p.m., Detroit Pistons vs. Lakers at 5 p.m. and Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Hornets at 7 p.m.

“NBA fans have the chance to get a sneak peek at the league’s newest stars in an up close and family-friendly venue,” said Gail Hunter, NBA senior VP of events.

We’ll update each day’s game schedule.
