It’s difficult to believe that music icon and former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr turned 70 yesterday. He celebrated at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York while our Cirque du Soleil’s Love cast at The Mirage saluted him with a Peace & Love wave from our Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip.
Here are YouTube videos of his birthday sing-along in Times Square and his 70th birthday interview in which he revealed that he nearly died on his 7th and 14th birthdays!

*What happened with the romance between The Hills co-stars Ryan Cabrera and Audrina Patridge? In recent weeks, they’ve been inseparable on their Las Vegas visits, including his celebration of her 25th birthday at Aria in CityCenter. But early this morning, he was nowhere in sight when she was spotted cozying up to former flame Australian BMX rider Corey Bohan at Surrender in Steve Wynn’s Encore.
The closerthanthis couple arrived with friends at 1 a.m. and sat at an indoor VIP table. Our spywitness reported: “They spent most of their time at the new hotspot cuddling and kissing.” The twosome returns to Surrender tonight for the launch of RawTeams.com.

Actress Pamela Anderson celebrates her birthday at Tao Beach and Tao nightclub in The Venetian on Saturday, and she’s also celebrating an eight- episode TV series set in a private investigator’s office in Beverly Hills. The show features Las Vegas blonde bombshell Hope McBain as the office receptionist. Hope has been the star poker hostess this week at the World Series of Poker at The Rio. … It’s taken a month of play and 62 bruising games, but the FIFA World Cup championship comes down to first-time finalists Spain vs. the Netherlands, and Caesars Palace headliner Matt Goss will host a free screening party one last time. Matt will throw a traditional pub experience party at his Gossy Room at Cleopatra’s Barge on Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m. Maybe he’ll still be singing from his Saturday night show? … The Twilight wolf pack of Alex Meraz, Tinsel Korey and Julia Jones put a bite into Tao Beach festivities July 24.
Holly Madison and Terry Fator at The Animal Foundation's Best in Show at The Orleans on May 23, 2010.
*Ventriloquist entertainer Terry Fator will donate proceeds of his Aug. 1 show at The Mirage along with a $350,000 MGM Resorts International contribution to The Public Education Foundation. PEF is a nonprofit organization that supports and affects public education through initiatives, programs and promising practices in Southern Nevada. MGM Chairman and CEO Jim Murren said: “We believe it is the responsibility of the entire community to improve public education in Southern Nevada, and we applaud Terry for joining our company in leading the effort.” MRI has donated more than $1 million to PEF.
*Steve Wynn’s star chef Alex Stratta has revamped his Italian American dinner menu at Stratta in the Wynn. Additions I can vouch for are the Crispy Rice Fritters with Braised Veal, Fontina in Tomato Sauce at $14; a hearty $16 Italian Cioppino; and a Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken and Snap Peas for $24. Alex’s $19 Spicy Shrimp Pesto Tomato and Garlic Wood-Fired Pizza has a great tangy taste that four people would enjoy, and the Veal Parmigiana with Angel Hair Pasta is so massive, it would feed the cast of Le Reve for a week! Check out the menu items at one of the best Italian restaurants in Las Vegas. Even Alex’s Crispy Fried Potatoes come with Truffle Oil and Parmesan Cheese.
*Fresh from five sold-out show at The Orleans, singer Perry Danos has his first hit, “When You Find the Right Woman.” The ballad on his three-song EP from Grand Vista Records is his first adult contemporary hit. He’s also getting play with the second track “99 Miles from L.A.” Perry is set to return this fall with his vintage Vegas-styled show.
Jim Cashman, Chip Beck and a Las Vegas Hilton executive in 1991.
*Paul Goydos made headlines today with his 59 in the opening round of the John Deere. In 1991, Chip Beck shot a 59 -- the second in history -- in the third round of the Las Vegas Invitational at Sunrise Golf Club (par 72). His round included 5 pars and 13 birdies (a PGA Tour record for birdies in one round), including a 3-footer on the 18th hole. Chip finished tied for third in the tournament. Thanks to Darrin Bush of Las Vegas News Bureau for this historic photo.
STAR SURVEILLANCE
American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta performed songs for the long line of fans waiting in the 100-degree heat outside Deseret Books in Henderson before he went inside to sign copies of his new book. Contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on hand for David’s visit. … Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce celebrated his 4-year extension at the owners’ VIP table last night at Surrender with teammate Glen “Big Baby” Davis. Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers and Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans were spotted partying there in a bungalow. … Last season’s America’s Got Talent winner Kevin Skinner stopped by Bonkerz Comedy Club in Palace Station to support fellow finalist Grandma Lee, who is headlining there until Labor Day weekend. Derek David of The Platters and wife Rita Bliss also attended.

TONIGHT’S TIPS
It’s the grand opening of Rock & Rita’s in Circus Circus, and the flair bartender party is the work of the same people behind Kahunaville in Treasure Island. … Drew Carey’s improv sidekick Greg Proops from Whose Line Is It Anyway? headlines for the three nights at The Playboy Comedy Lounge in the Palms. … Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta performs at Haze in Aria. … The finals of Mr. Freeze’s Hip Hop battles is at Revolution Lounge in The Mirage. … Bobby Long headlines at Carey Hart’s Wasted Space in the Hard Rock Hotel with Trouble Over Tokyo, He Is We and The John Zito Band.
The season 10 premiere of Dancing With the Stars on March 22, 2010. Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood are pictured here.
TOMORROW’S TEASES
While Pamela Anderson is at Tao, the wild rockers who used to date her and now make up Camp Freddy are set to storm The Pearl at the Palms with unannounced rock star friends. The annual sexy models pajama party for high rollers is there simultaneously in another top weekend of entertainers.
