Mindfreak magician Criss Angel is getting ready for a massive media blitz that will kick off the new Season 6 on A&E on Aug. 4. Die-hard Mindfreak fans will be thrilled because it even includes a marathon of previous episodes, so it’s all Criss all the time on launch day.
Additionally that same night, Criss is set to appear on America’s Got Talent on NBC. A&E also has scheduled airdates for the 1-hour Biography on Criss to run as a premiere on its Biography Channel on July 31. It airs on parent network A&E after Mindfreak’s premiere.
Criss heads to L.A. for appearances on NBC The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC. The illusionist’s Las Vegas mountaintop estate Serenity is featured on MTV’s Cribs in August, although viewers will get the first glimpse of it in the opening sequence of the Mindfreak premiere, which features his death-defying walk up the side of the Luxor.
Vegas DeLuxe also will exclusively showcase the magnificent Mediterranean property next week in an extraordinary gallery of more than 60 photos, with Criss personally giving the tour.
Currently on a two-week vacation from Cirque du Soleil’s Believe at the Luxor, Criss returns to the production next Tuesday. At that point, Criss has new illusions and a new look to the show without the Cirque du Soleil dancers and the former storyline.
“It’s much more about his Mindfreak image and illusions than it was before,” I was reliably told. He has another five illusions to add to bring it to a total of 40, which will be fully in place by the second anniversary in October.
We posted last week interviews with Criss about Mindfreak’s news Season 6 and the changes taking place in Believe.
