Holly Madison: ‘I’m very blessed to have so many good people in my life’

From July 14 through Aug. 4, Robin Leach will be relaxing under the Tuscan sun on his annual vacation and will keep his eyes on what’s happening in Las Vegas from Italy. Meantime, a kindly crew of Las Vegas celebrities and VIPs has agreed to write guest columns for Vegas DeLuxe.

By Holly Madison, guest columnist

Hey, everyone. Holly Madison here reporting for Mr. Champagne Wishes himself. I finally get to turn the tables on him. LOL. I’m actually sitting here on the set of my reality TV show Holly’s World typing this. To say that this has been a crazy few months would be a tremendous understatement.

I don’t know if it’s more than I expected or if I wasn’t truly prepared for it, but the amount of work that goes into this show is insane. Yes, it is a reality show, but it means that we shoot hours upon hours of footage so that the producers (of which I am one) can have enough footage to make eight half-hour episodes. Some of the stuff we have shot won’t ever make it to E!, and in some cases, that’s a very good thing.

If you haven’t seen Holly’s World yet, it basically follows me and three of my friends as we all try to figure out things on our own in Las Vegas. My three friends are Josh Strickland, who stars with me every night in Peepshow at Planet Hollywood; Angel Porrino, who is my assistant; and Laura Croft. Laura is one of my best friends. I met her when she was in Playboy, and I was working there as a photo editor.

The one thing that I hope Holly’s World shows is that we are all really great friends. When I moved to Las Vegas last year, I really only knew a few people. It’s kind of intimidating to come to a new city and make your way, so I relied on my friends to help me. Now the four of us really are a family. We support each other in everything.

Sure, we have arguments, but, at the end of the day, none of that stuff really matters. The most important thing is that we love each other and can help each other get through anything. I’m very blessed to have so many good people in my life.

That said, I can’t wait for a break from the cameras! Between the reality show and still performing six nights a week in Peepshow, I am one seriously tired bombshell. The best part of my day is going home and seeing my two babies, Napoleon and Josephine. They are great dogs that I rescued from one of the local animal shelters here in town. They don’t care if I’ve had a bad day when I get home. They are always there, tails wagging when I do.

That’s one of the main reasons that I have done so much work with The Animal Foundation here in town and why I’m such a firm believer in pet adoption. You can really make a huge difference in the life of a dog or a cat when you adopt one. I suggest it to anyone I know who is looking for a pet.

Well, they are calling me back to the cameras, so I guess this is goodbye for now. Thanks as always to Robin for letting me fill in for him and for all the great support he has given me since I moved here. See you guys at Peepshow or on E! soon!
