After a massive pool of 7,319 players and nearly two weeks of play, the 2010 World Series of Poker’s Main Event is finally down to the November Nine, or the Final Table, who return to The Rio on Nov. 6 to compete for the first-place prize of nearly $9 million. Each player in the Top Nine is guaranteed more than $1 million.

A few facts: Eight of the nine are professional poker players, with one a medical supplies salesman; this year’s group is the second largest in WSOP history (2006 saw 8,773 hopefuls); six of the nine are Americans, and no Canadian has ever won The Main Event; and this year’s winner receives $8,944,138, the coveted WSOP gold bracelet and the title of 2010 world poker champion. The WSOP begins airing on ESPN on Tuesday for 16 weeks leading up to the Final Table.

The November Nine, in descending chip count, are Jonathan Duhamel, a 22-year-old poker pro from Boucherville, Quebec, with 65,975,000 in his stack; John Dolan, a 24-year-old poker pro from Bonita Springs, Fla., with 46,250,000; Joseph Cheong, a 24-year-old poker pro from La Mirada, Calif., with 23,525,000; John Racener, a 24-year-old poker pro from Port Richey, Fla., with 19,050,000; Matthew Jarvis, a 25-year-old poker pro from Surrey, British Columbia, with 16,700,000; Filippo Candio, a 26-year-old poker pro from Cagliari, Sardinia, with 16,400,000; Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, a 29-year poker pro from Miami and Las Vegas, with 14,450,000; Cuong “Soi” Nguyen, a 37-year-old medical supply salesman from Santa Ana, Calif., with 9,650,000; and Jason Senti, a 25-year-old pro poker player from St. Louis Park, Minn., with 7,625,000.
