Contributing photographer Tom Donoghue had a busy week away from the extreme desert heat of Las Vegas shooting the MLB All-Star Game in Anaheim, Calif., followed by the 2010 ESPY Awards at the Nokia Theater in downtown L.A.

Among this year’s ESPY highlights: New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was the night’s big winner with four ESPYs, three of them individual honors, and the Arthur Ashe Courage Award recipient, the family of coach Ed Thomas, who was shot and killed in a high school football locker room. Minnesota Vikings quarter Brett Favre presented the award to Thomas’ wife Jan and sons Aaron and Todd.

The red carpet included Brees, Favre, Shaun White, Zac Efron, Brooklyn Decker, Danica Patrick, Bobby Brown, Evan Lysacek, Jeremy Shockey, John Isner, Kyle Busch, Landon Donovan, Lindsey Vonn, Mike Piazza, Tim Tebow, Arsenio Hall, Joe Namath with daughters Olivia and Jessica, Amber Rose, Riley Steele, Ashley Greene, Patrick Kane, Sean Payton, Adrian Peterson, Amare Stoudemire, Cheryl Burke, Dara Torres, Greg Lewis, Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett, Terrell Owens, “Dr. J” Julius Erving, Armando Galarraga, Jim Joyce and the New Orleans Saints.
