New Miami Heat star LeBron James kicked off the weekend last night hosting a celebration at Lavo in the Palazzo. King James was joined by Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets (for the time being anyway), San Diego Chargers’ Shaun Phillips, Atlanta Hawks’ Josh Smith, Memphis Grizzlies’ Rudy Gay, Boston Celtics’ Rajon Rondo and Charlotte Bobcats’ Larry Hughes.
Fans, probably not too many from Cleveland, waited outside the hotspot for the arrival of the former Cleveland Cavaliers player, who dined at the Italian restaurant after walking the red carpet and enjoyed Crown and Ginger Ale cocktails and Lemon Drop shots. After dinner, James and his entourage took over VIP tables on the dance floor in the boutique nightclub upstairs, where they danced, partied and enjoyed Perrier Jouet Rose Champagne, Patron and vodka.
James was presented with a cake, a replica of his new Miami Heat No. 6 jersey, made by Gimme Some Sugar. New teammate Dwyane Wade joined the party after hitting sister hotspot Tao in The Venetian earlier in the night, and Denver Nuggets’ Chauncy Billups partied with his peeps, as well.

During the day yesterday at Tao Beach, Twilight wolves Tinsel Korey (Emily), Julia Jones (Leah Clearwater) and Alex Meraz (Paul) played hosts. Fans screamed upon the trio’s arrival, and they chilled in the grand cabana drinking Grey Goose cocktails.
James and Paul also partied at Tao Beach in a group of 12, while in a cabana over, Shawn Marion of the Dallas Mavericks spent the day with Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child fame. Williams was celebrating her 30th birthday, and the pair pulled fortunes from Tao’s Giant Fortune Cookie and toasted with Veuve Clicquot.
We’ll have the full celebrity weekend wrap-up Monday morning.
