Photos: Holly Madison celebrates no more resort fees at Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood and PH Towers are the latest Harrah’s Entertainment properties to combat resort fees, and Peepshow and Holly’s World star Holly Madison and Planet Hollywood President Marilyn Winn celebrated the announcement of no resort fees yesterday by unveiling millions in cash bricks, the amount of money spent last month on resort fees by Las Vegas visitors.

Planet Hollywood and PH Towers join Caesars Palace, Harrah’s, Paris, The Rio, Flamingo, Bally’s and Imperial Palace as official no resort fee zones. Madison wore a “No Resort Fee Zone” T-shirt in the Pleasure Pit during the presentation with Winn.

Harrah’s Entertainment is the first major casino operator on The Strip to eliminate resort fees. The fees in some cases are more than 40 percent of the advertised room rate, range in price and might include amenities such as bottled water, newspaper delivery, pool entry and fitness facility access. Guests who use their cell phones to make phone calls and receive news updates and those who don’t use the gyms don’t have the option in some cases of declining the fee.
