The 100-degree-plus temperatures weren’t the only things heating up Las Vegas over the weekend, as tourists and locals alike had the nightlife options of Gin Blossoms at the Hard Rock Hotel, Goo Goo Dolls at The Pearl in the Palms, Tracy Morgan at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and rapper and actor 50 Cent last night at The Pearl.

Our hard-working contributing photographers braved the heat -- well, at least Erik Kabik did for Gin Blossoms’ poolside concert -- to produce their photo galleries for Vegas DeLuxe readers.

6/4/10 Weekend: 50 Cent, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls

GIN BLOSSOMS

The Tempe, Ariz., band, who scored with the hits “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You,” “Til I Hear It From You” and “Follow You Down” in the late 1980s and 1990s, rocked the crowd at the HRH Beach Club at the Hard Rock Hotel as part of the Friday Night Live concert series. Formed in 1987, Gin Blossoms split in 1997 and reunited five years later. Thanks to Kabik for his photos.

GOO GOO DOLLS

The feel-good pop rock of lead singer John Rzeznik and his Goo Goo Dolls ruled the airwaves in the late 1990s and early 2000s with such memorable hits as “Name,” “Iris,” “Slide,” “Black Balloon” and 2005’s “Better Days.” In fact, the band’s 1998 album Dizzy Up the Girl produced five Top 10 singles. Rzeznik and the Dolls performed at The Pearl in the Palms on Saturday night, and fans will still attest to a crush on the rock star frontman and guitarist.

TRACY MORGAN

Also off Strip but east of Las Vegas Boulevard, Saturday Night Live alumnus and 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan provided the laughs Saturday night at The Joint. Morgan, who is currently in theaters in director Neil LaBute's comedy Death at a Funeral co-starring Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence, received his first Emmy nod last year for 30 Rock. Thanks again to Kabik, who was back at the Hard Rock Hotel for a second night of work.

50 CENT

Rapper 50 Cent, who was the star attraction at Pure in Caesars Palace this past New Year’s Eve, switched venues but was still “In Da Club” at The Pearl last night. The music artist, born Curtis Jackson and also known for his muscular physique and tattoos, has made recent headlines for dropping a reported 50 pounds to play a cancer-stricken football player in the film Things Fall Apart. Thanks to Glenn Pinkerton of Las Vegas News Bureau for his photos.
