Hot off the grill! Las Vegas really does have an appetite for a unique dining experience, where courses are prepared by a local chef using the freshest, homegrown ingredients for a meal served outdoors under the stars at one long dinner table. Project Dinner Table’s next affair is set for June 26 at Cashman Center, home of our Las Vegas 51s.

Chef Michael Napolitano of Renaissance Catering will prepare a six-course meal, and appetizers and cocktails will be served to guests on the field. The 51s are on the road, so Project Dinner Table is taking over! Guests can bring gloves, catch fly balls and break out batting practice.

A donation will be presented to Community Counseling Center on behalf of Project Dinner Table guests.

*More than 80 restaurants here have set the week of Aug. 30 through Sept. 5 as Restaurant Week with special menus and prices. It allows foodies, residents and tourists to try new restaurants, and a portion of the proceeds goes to our food bank Three Square.

*Today and tomorrow, Lolita’s Cantina and Tequila Bar, opening in July at Town Square, has an open casting call to hire more than 100 servers, dancers and other employees for the two-floor, 10,000-square-foot restaurant and nightclub. The owners are boasting the traditions of Mazatlan, the spirit of Baja and the energy of South Beach.

*A new coffee lounge, teahouse and espresso bar is combining the best of Brazil and Italy to introduce the organic art of sipping. Sambalatte is opening in Boca Park’s Fashion Village this summer featuring jazz and house while sipping, savoring and socializing. Each porcelain china cup of coffee is topped with a signature froth latte art piece. The eco-conscious lounge boasts local roasting from beans from Fair Trade farmers using organic and sustainable products.
