Mayor Oscar Goodman declared yesterday “Sgt. Pepper Live Day” on the day Cheap Trick’s Sgt. Pepper Live kicked off a limited run of a show in tribute to one of The Beatles’ most beloved and popular albums, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Cheap Trick members Robin Zander, Tom Petersson and Rick Nielsen were on hand to receive the proclamation, and legendary Beatles producer Geoff Emerick, show producer Bill Edwards and Paris President Marilyn Winn also attended the ceremony. Emerick received a key to the city from Goodman.

In return, Cheap Trick, Edwards and Emerick presented the mayor with a bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin. The mayor is a fan of Bombay Sapphire martinis, so the gift could not have been more perfect.
