Blonde bombshell and Peepshow headliner Holly Madison was thrilled with the overnight Nielsen ratings for the premiere of her E! Entertainment reality TV series Holly’s World, but she’s not happy about the fact that she’s single and there’s no serious main squeeze in her life to share the success.
“It’s really tough to find a good guy,” she told me when we chatted about her dating life here in Las Vegas during the Holly’s World premiere viewing party at Planet Hollywood on Sunday. “I’m trying to figure out why it’s so difficult.”
A baffled but bemused Holly revealed that her girlfriends Angel Porrino and Laura Croft try to fix her up on Holly’s World. “You’re going to see a lot of drama about my dating life,” she laughed.
She doesn’t reveal what goes wrong, but it’s safe to guess from her current status that she’s still on the market. Even Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden is in the “best friends” category now because of his touring and recording schedules.
Holly’s World drew such impressive numbers that E! last night described it as “our latest breakout hit. The Nielsen numbers were four times ahead of our second-quarter primetime averages.”
Holly was a hit in the coveted 18-to-34 female demographic as some 2 million viewers tuned in to watch. For a first-night debut on cable, these are impressive stats. Contributing photographer Tom Donoghue captured a gallery from Holly’s premiere screening at Planet Hollywood’s Playing Field sports book -- and when she and I talked about her single status:
“I want a traditional, one-time-only marriage. I’m an old-fashioned girl in that sense. I don’t want to have something that ends in separation and divorce. My parents are still together after all these years, still loving and caring for each other -- and that’s what I want. Something that lasts forever. When I do find somebody, even if I know it’s the right one, I’ll wait a year so we can grow together, become each other’s best friend, and then after a year get married so we know it will always last.
“It’s difficult to find a man to marry -- anywhere. Not just Las Vegas. The dating pool is not really fun whether you are in Las Vegas, Los Angeles or New York. I keep my eyes open, though, looking for the right guy. It’s very difficult for me to find somebody who is interesting enough. And if they are, please raise your hand! I just don’t know why it’s so difficult. I have no idea. Is it because I’m in show business. Is it because of my odd, long hours of work? Is it because I don’t date guys I feel are only interested in arm candy or somebody wanting to get famous from me?
“I wish I could get that question answered myself. The perfect guy has to be smart, sexy, funny, and he must like Disneyland. That’s very important because it means we’re both kids at heart. I think I’ll find him at some point. I don’t sense it yet. I don’t know if it’s getting closer yet. Of course, he’s also going to want to have a family. I have babies on the brain right now, which is why I love Angel’s baby Roman so much.

“We have such a strong sense of community here in Vegas because we are such a small town, so I would much rather raise a family here than somewhere else. Vegas is simply much better -- the rules are much stricter here, too. No underage drinking or gambling, and no getting into clubs if you are under 21. I like all that about Vegas.”
Sunday's episode of Holly's World features the behind-the-scenes drama as Holly throws the world’s biggest 21st birthday celebration for Angel at Tao in The Venetian.

Yesterday, to celebrate the ratings success, Holly took castmates Laura, Angel and Josh Strickland, who also co-stars with Holly in Peepshow, to the Hard Rock Cafe alongside the Hard Rock Hotel to also celebrate Founder’s Day. It’s the annual tradition of serving burgers for just 71 cents to commemorate the 1971 launch of the Hard Rock.
The annual Burger Badge Bash salutes the heroes of community service: police, firefighters, emergency medical personnel and military. Contributing photographer Scott Harrison was there to record the excitement.
As usual, Holly had the last words: “I want to stay in Las Vegas. I love it here so much. I see it as my permanent home in the future. This week, I’m finishing the decorating of my own new home here so I can finally move in for good. The house will work well when I have a family. That’s what I want, to be a wonderful wife and a marvelous mother. “
Holly's World cast members Holly Madison, Josh Strickland, Angel Porrino and Laura Croft hosted the premiere party June 13, 2010, at Planet Hollywood.
She giggled when I said the reality TV show had her petitioning Mayor Oscar Goodman, and she was dipping her toes into big-time politics. “That could very much be part of my future,” she laughed.” You could see me as the mayor bringing even more fun and glamour to the town, right?”
