When The Killers or Kenny Chesney aren’t in town, The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel also is a hotspot for sports, and Thursday night saw 18 bruisers take to the ring for charity in the three-round, nine-fight Fight Club IV.
Las Vegas nightlife and casino personalities laced up their gloves and included representatives from the Hard Rock Hotel, Elite Gym, HRH Beach Club, Wasted Space, Palms, HPD, VIPFantasyVegas.com, Vanity, Bellagio, Angel Music Group, Ketel One and Spearmint Rhino.
More than 900 people watched the fights and helped raise more than $15,000 for charity, with $5,000 earmarked for Barry’s Boxing/USA Boxing, a nonprofit boxing gym for kids in North Las Vegas, and $10,000 to Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft charity.
One highlight of the evening was Mark Alums, in American flag boxing trunks, knocking out Ryan Langson in the second round of the final bout of the night, and contributing photographer Erik Kabik was onsite for the boxers, battles and blood.
Vegas DeLuxe salutes Fight Club IV’s 18 participants: Alums, Langson, Steve Cyr, John Paul Roberts, Nick Baldwell, Casey Hausman, Ken Long, Ed Oporto, Joe Friedman, Jack Galvin, Chris Hanley, Alan Olvera, Leo Mancuso, Charlie Wetlauffer, Kevin Sweet, Brian Sweet, Anthony Olheiser and Ryan McGinnis.
