Expect next Wednesday’s release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse to be a box office blockbuster, but tonight, Las Vegas comedy king Jimmy Kimmel scoops the pack with his one-hour primetime special with the cast on ABC.
Jimmy welcomes Twilight superstars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and more to Jimmy Kimmel Live’s The Twilight Saga: Total Eclipse of the Heart airing at 10 p.m.
ABC has posted videos of the behind-the-scenes special, including Jimmy Kimmel’s “Twilight” Zone.

Jimmy also corralled the cast of the hit MTV reality TV series Jersey Shore to re-enact scenes from Twilight in a comedy segment. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino will be a shirtless Edward in a coffin made from a tanning bed, with DJ Pauly D as werewolf Jacob and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi as Bella Swan. Jimmy himself will play Bella’s dad, Forks Police Chief Charlie Swan.
Incidentally, Pauly and Mike will be back in Las Vegas celebrating their birthdays over the Fourth of July weekend at the Palms and at Rehab in the Hard Rock Hotel.
In advance of the red carpet premiere at Nokia Theater as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival tomorrow, fans set up their own tent city as early as Sunday to watch the star arrivals. The phenomenon attracted some 500 fans willing to wait 90 hours for a look at Robert, Kristen and Taylor. Many are wearing vampire makeup and Team Edward and Team Jacob T-shirts. NBA champion L.A. Lakers players even took photos of the Twi-hards from their victory parade route that passed them.
The red carpet walk actually unfurls through the tent city, which will be cleaned up for the gala and with the Twi-hards getting positions along it. The film opens June 30. Meanwhile, tune in for Jimmy’s TV special and a lot of unexpected fun tonight.
