Photos: Kardashians cause Khaos with store; Terry Fator’s outlet moves

Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Mirage President and CEO Scott Sibella announce the new retail store Kardashian Khaos during a news conference at The Mirage on June 28, 2010.

Even though it will be called Khaos and fans will rush to it by the thousands, the new retail store Kardashian Khaos opening Aug. 21 at The Mirage will be all about serious big business, plus provide new episodes for their reality TV shows. Instead of other chic young designers grabbing the spotlight, this will be exclusively Kardashian all the time, plus Kris Jenner and Lamar Odom products, too.
The products also include Kim’s signature watch line and a Kardashian glamour tan system, and even gold medal Olympian Bruce Jenner, who is married to Kris, will have items for sale. Kris is described as the momager of the family business.
She said: “This is all a dream come true for the family. The Mirage is the perfect home for this because all of its glitz and glam defines the Kardashian style. Las Vegas is dear to our hearts, and the girls’ father would be proud of their venture with the Mirage.”
The family affair will have several one-of-a-kind products recognizable to fans of the shows, their appearances and photo shoots. Fans can look like a hot cougar in selected Kris Jenner dresses, score a knockout with Kim’s pink boxing gloves or peel into those sexy swimsuits the trio wear on their shows. The items will be on display and for sale, and, although collector items, will still be affordable.
Contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on duty for yesterday’s launch, and thanks also to Christopher Rauschnot @24k Media on Twitter for the video coverage uploaded to YouTube.
Fans know the girls already have their boutique Dash in Calabasas, Calif., and another in Miami. I was told by TLK Fusion officials yesterday: “The difference is Dash stores are women’s boutiques, which carry chic young designers, whereas Kardashian Khaos will be a lifestyle celebrity retail boutique carrying all Kardashian, Jenner and Odom products that they promote and own coupled with made-to-order couture Kardashian Khaos products. There will be many exclusive items for sale that can only be purchased at the Kardashian Khaos retail location at The Mirage.”
Kim and Kourtney -- along with Khloe, the most photographed sisters in the world -- and mother Kris flew in yesterday for the announcement they describe as “our most exciting business endeavor yet.”
It will take the place of the existing Terry Fator merchandise store, but no need for alarm here. The entertainer is simply moving to a slightly smaller space but much closer to his theater lobby.

“Since he donates 100 percent of the profits from his retail store to help military families, he will have less overhead and thus allows him to make those donations even larger. It’s a win-win for all involved,” an official said.
Vegas magazine’s current issue, which features the three Kardashian sisters on the cover, was distributed to guests at yesterday’s launch. The Kardashians have partnered with Bravada International, TLK Fusion and The Mirage for the retail project. Mirage President and CEO Scott Sibella, Bravada CEO Danny Alex, TLK Fusion Co-Presidents Ken Collis and Tracy Keyser, and Cynthia Bussey, project creative director, joined the Kardashians for the announcement.
With three successful reality TV shows -- Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami and The Spin World -- the new store will get an avalanche of TV exposure, and the cultural phenomenon of these bright businesswomen will get an even longer lease on life.
