Whoever knew there were so many freaks with so many bizarre talents and skills? It was proved true at the opening night over the weekend of DJ Skribble’s new residency in Studio 54 at MGM Grand.
The carnival sideshow featured performance artists swallowing swords, eating shards of glass and even lifting weights from their eye sockets! Photographer Isaac Brekken shot a gallery of Freak Show photos where every picture is worth at least a thousand words.
Our spywitness reported: “All of the freaks came out to celebrate with Skribble as he took the stage and began mixing Top 40, hip-hop and rock electro mixes. The legendary titan of the turntable brought a high-energy performance to the club and gave partygoers a night of spectacular music.
“The iconic mix master finally settled into his new home on the Strip setting out to deliver a nonstop party and over-the-top entertainment every single week. There’s no question that DJ Skribble will heat up the dance floor every week as he spins energetic tracks that will transform the club into a modern-day circus freak show.”
The self-dubbed freaks put on four performances each early Sunday morning after the Saturday midnight start. We recently chatted with DJ Skribble about his new residency and the bizarre acts. He said he’ll happily play from midnight to midday if the revelers want to keep the party going. On opening night, they stayed till 8 a.m., so he’s getting closer to his wish for a 12-hour, nonstop music session!
