It was no surprise that rock guitarist Dave Navarro wound up shirtless for DJ Skribble’s new and recurring Freak Show weekend party at Studio 54 in MGM Grand. It was a night and early morning of unforgettable mash-ups, and Dave started the night with a shout-out inviting the crowd to “Get Your Freak On” a la Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott.

And with a bizarre collection of carnival sideshow performers swallowing swords, eating light bulbs and fire and showcasing body piercings, it was the perfect freak scene set! Contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on midnight maniac duty and shot this out-of-the-ordinary photo gallery.

Dave Navarro at DJ Skribble's Freak Show

World-renowned celebrity mix master Skribble joined forces with the guitarist of Jane’s Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers fame for a blend of guitar, hip-hop and rock-electro remixes.

My spywitness reported: “Dave rocked out on his guitar alongside Skribble during the newly launched weekly Freak Show. The wily and unpredictable Dave added high energy to Skribble’s live performances. Together, the two music icons gave clubgoers a night of spectacular music as they created an environment for a nonstop party that had Studio 54 rocking all night long and into the dawn.

Dave Navarro and DJ Skribble perform at Freak Show at Studio 54 in the MGM Grand on March 27, 2010.

“They started off by remixing The Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Imma Be’ with Jay-Z’s ‘Empire State of Mind,’ and then took partygoers on a musical journey adding in house and rock. The tattooed guitarist was joined onstage by gorgeous go-go dancers and joined Skribble in talking with the audience to ensure that everybody was having a wild time.”

At the end of the night, Skribble said, “Playing with Dave is always amazing! If I could put together my dream team, I would have me, DJ Aero, Dave and Tommy Lee all onstage together working the crowd.”
