The Final Four are in place on Dancing With the Stars

It was textbook television -- and exactly as predicted.
SPOILER ALERT: Please do not read any further if you want to watch the West Coast tape-delayed broadcast of Dancing With the Stars without anything revealed. Consider this my one and only friendly warning! But come back after the show to see if you agree with my observations.
It’s a very short results story tonight for many reasons, not the least of which is that the three expected couples remained in the race for the top, and the two other expected couples fought to stay alive at the bottom.
It was Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, with Cheryl Burke, and Reno 911 star Niecy Nash, with Louis Van Amstel, who wound up on the firing line, while Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, with Las Vegas’ Derek Hough, Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek, with Anna Trebunskaya, and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, with our Le Reve choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy all declared safe.
TV viewers voted to save Chad for one more week, and it was the comedienne who was sent packing. I believe -- as I wrote earlier today -- that Chad will suffer the same fate in next week’s semifinals, although a major upset is always a possibility. Are the rumors true that Nicole injured herself after last night’s superb, nearly perfect performance? And how about the story today about Erin’s pro dance experience?
So it’s a fond farewell to Niecy and Louis, and the Fantastic Four preps for the semis. It still looks like a neck-and-neck race for the prized disco ball trophy between Nicole and Evan, while Erin as the latecomer could really spill the apple cart!
