Most people see The Strip’s amazing architecture by walking on the sidewalk. Other visitors see it in helicopter fly-bys from either side of the Las Vegas Strip.

But our contributing photographer Tom Donoghue hung from a Maverick Helicopter sightseeing flight above the skyscrapers, hotel and resort buildings -- and MGM’s CityCenter -- for this amazing photo gallery of our skyline.

The side passenger door of the chopper was removed so that Tom had unobstructed views from some daring flight angles! Yes, he was strapped in securely as he dangled his Nikon cameras over Neon City. It’s the first photo shoot above the Strip since CityCenter opened in December.

“It was an extraordinary experience,” Tom told me. “For me personally, it was satisfying and exhilarating simultaneously because it’s such a rare way to see the world-famous skyline and get to capture it on film for everybody to share.

“I wanted something very special to showcase Las Vegas to the entire world. It turned out to be one of my best photo shoots in 40 years behind the lens.”
