Reggae legends Toots & the Maytals took over the Hard Rock Hotel Beach Club last night to continue the fourth season of the concerts under the stars, and hotel mogul Steve Wynn, in a private cabana, was among the poolside revelers. Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was onsite for the concert sponsored by Ambhar tequila.

Erik captured Frederick “Toots” Hibbert backstage before the performance and during the show. Toots, the inventor of the word reggae, was voted by Rolling Stone last year as one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.

HRH Beach Club: Toots & the Maytals

Erik reported: “The crowd was in full swing, dancing throughout the night around the pool as Toots delivered his signature soulful lyrics that bring to mind Al Green, Otis Redding and James Brown. The Maytals are a reggae band, but the music is full of great R&B and soul riffs to back Toots’ unique reggae style of singing.”
