Four top Las Vegas headliners will take part in the Daytime Emmy Awards to honor American Bandstand and its host Dick Clark as part of its telecast on CBS next month. Cher, Barry Manilow, Garth Brooks and Marie Osmond will join Ann-Margret, Frankie Avalon, The Spinners, Jay Leno and Simon Cowell to salute the 80-year-old TV icon during the June 27 ceremony here in Las Vegas.

A longtime industry friend, Dick is known as “America’s oldest teenager.” He turned the Philadelphia-based dance show into one of the biggest shows in TV history and went on to build a vast media empire. Sadly, he’s kept a low profile since suffering a stroke in 2004 but has been a brave warrior continuing to soldier on. Dick, my TV partner Al Masini and I often collaborated on various video library productions.

Vinnie Favorito's Fifth Anniversary

*Vinnie Favorito, an award-winning comedian and celebrity roaster, celebrated his fifth anniversary last night of headlining some 5,000 shows on The Strip for Harrah’s. Vinnie began his relationship with Harrah’s at The Improv before headlining at O’Sheas. Now he performs nightly at Bugsy’s Cabaret in the Flamingo. Harrah’s hosted an invitation-only celebration that continued until early this morning at Sin City Brewing Co. Thanks to contributing photographer Dave Proctor for his photos.

Audiences rave about Vinnie’s ability to verbally exploit audiences, integrating each person he talks to with the next person, proving no one is a challenge for his comedic genius. Vinnie, referred to as a “modern-day Don Rickles,” doesn’t have pre-planned skits or notes; he relies on his quick wit and stellar memory to crack impromptu jokes.

*NASCAR driver Taylor “The Bomber” Barton stands in 7th in the Pro Series after completing his third race for NASCAR at Iowa Speedway, so he’s in consideration for Sunoco Rookie of the Year. The Las Vegas driver whose title sponsor is FullTiltPoker.net is part of Thompson Motorsports’ team and competes July 3 at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif.

*Last night at Bonkerz Comedy Club, two of The History Channel’s Pawn Stars, Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison and Chumlee stopped by Grandma Lee’s show, as they are big fans of the America’s Got Talent star. The trio signed autographs for fans after the show.
