Celine Dion’s sixth pregnancy try is successful: Twins are on the way

Superstar Canadian singer Celine Dion is counting “a double blessing” this afternoon, as her manager husband Rene Angelil has confirmed that Celine’s sixth attempt at in-vitro fertilization has proved successful -- they’re expecting twins!

Rene, 68, is headed to Las Vegas this week for the preliminary planning meetings of Celine’s new three-year concert contract schedule starting in March at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

Celine, 42, is reportedly 14 weeks along, and with a November due date, there shouldn’t be any delay to her resumed Las Vegas residency.

Rene told People: “We are ecstatic. It’s a double blessing.”

Celine told Contact Music for The Wendy Williams Show: “Five is my lucky number -- and we’re waiting on good news.”

Celine, who has been married to Rene since 1994, said: “Well, we’re crossing our fingers. We’re waiting for good news hopefully. I don’t want to talk about it so much because I’m superstitious, but I know people have been very wonderful for us and praying for us. Right now we are crossing our fingers, we hope for the best, and I can’t wait to give people good news.

“Once you live in show business and everything spreads out so quick, and every pregnancy you have to wait three months to make sure it’s all OK and it’s nerve-racking. We’re not getting any younger, and you always think it’s your last chance, you’re last try.”

Celine, who has remained strong throughout the pregnancy attempts, then repeated what she’s said previously: “I’m going to try until it works. Five’s my lucky number, so this is the time it’s got to work."

Vegas DeLuxe has previously reported Celine’s hopes and prayers to become pregnant again. One of the previous five attempts was successful, but she suffered a miscarriage after a few weeks. They are the parents of 9-year-old Rene Charles.
