Photos: Skimpy swimsuit raises eyebrows, wins at bikini contest

The super-skimpy, next-to-nothing swimsuit that barely covered 27-year-old new Las Vegas resident Samantha Harris raised eyebrows, won applause and clinched the semifinals of the weekly bikini contest at Planet Hollywood’s Pleasure Pool.

Samantha, who has just arrived from her home in Adel, Ga., was encouraged to move here by her gal pal reality TV starlet Laura Croft of E!’s Holly’s World. Laura also persuaded her to enter this past weekend’s contest semifinals.

Laura told me: “We both used to do battle against each other in several Hawaiian Tropic beauty pageants, but even with the competition, we became friends. We met up again recently, and I said she should move to Vegas, as I did. I told her she’d love the city, and it would have many opportunities for her.

“She arrived less than a week ago, and I told her the first order of business was to enter the Planet Hollywood bikini contest. She did -- and she won it. I just knew she would!”

Samantha, who shares the same name as the former co-host of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, placed first, and a young Missouri lady celebrating her bachelorette party entered on a dare and came in 2nd. Third place went to a bikini beauty from Sacramento.

This Saturday at 4 p.m., all the previous first-, second- and third-place finishers compete for the grand prize of $5,000 and the title and crown! Already, those who’ve watched each week have decided that it will come down to Samantha and the previous week’s winner, Stormi Henley, who is Miss Teen USA 2009.

Samantha believes that she has the winning edge. “If you thought my bikini was a winner this week, just wait till you see the one I’m wearing next,” she said. “It’s even more eye-popping, if that’s possible. Some of it’s even see-through!”

To say that things are heating up for the Pleasure Pool finals would be an understatement!
