ABC has released the official cast photos of Season 11 of its top-rated hit Dancing With the Stars, and the portraits are a glittery sea of red and black and a modest, almost tasteful, amount of flesh.

Curiously absent so far are any photographs of Jersey Shore stud Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino -- not even rehearsal photographs. Has The Situation been too busy with tanning salon appointments and the gym upkeep for his omnipresent six-pack abs? Has he even rehearsed yet, like the rest of the cast?

It’s been reported that Bristol Palin has whined that Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey and singer Brandy have dance experience. OK, except that Dirty Dancing was released in 1987 -- yep, 23 years ago -- when the former Alaska first daughter was 7. What about Sorrentino’s reported male stripping past?

DWTS Season 11

To be fair, last season’s winner, without naming names, was a very experienced dancer who made her living as a professional singer and dancer. It’s a good bet that Palin will be the first to exit with pro partner Mark Ballas, who also departed first last season with Shannen Doherty and injured to boot.

Vegas DeLuxe previously reported the announcement of Season 11’s cast, which was last week, as well as the celebrity pairing, rehearsal photographs and the odds on who will waltz away with the champion’s mirrored disco ball trophy, with former L.A. Lakers champion Rick Fox and two-time professional champion Cheryl Burke at the head of the pack, followed by Grey and hometown hero and two-time champ Derek Hough.

Season 11, with hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke and judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, commences Sept. 20.
