Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is joining a group of models on the catwalk at Fashion Show tomorrow at 4 p.m. to launch Fashion’s Night Out, a global initiative to support fashion and retail centers. International Academy of Design & Technology students have created a special fashion-themed T-shirt, and 500 will be given to the public after the runway show.

Fashion Show and The Shoppes at The Palazzo are designated as official Las Vegas participants in Fashion’s Night Out, with official participation through application only. Both have joined to create a weeklong series of events to promote Fashion’s Night Out centered on the nearly 250-plus designer boutiques. Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show are hosting events, and more than 75 retailers will be offering shopping incentives throughout the weekend.

In the United States, Fashion’s Night Out is a joint effort among Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Co., and the City of New York. Fifteen Vogue editions (Australia, Britain, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Taiwan and Turkey), will join the United States in celebrating Fashion’s Night Out on one night between this past Tuesday and next Thursday.
