It never ceases to amaze that even after a jam-packed Labor Day Weekend in Las Vegas, there are still plenty of entertainment options here the following (recovery) weekend, from Scissor Sisters at The Pearl in the Palms to Sheryl Crow at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel.
Kevin James and Ray Romano, a comedy tag team at Jet.
Friday, Sept. 10
Four funnymen of TV fame are headlining this weekend. Ray Romano of Everybody Loves Raymond fame and Kevin James of The King of Queens fame, who appeared on ELR before getting his own sitcom, are at The Mirage through tomorrow. Las Vegas regular and Tao in The Venetian fan David Spade of Just Shoot Me fame is at The Venetian through tomorrow, while Mark Curry of Hanging With Mr. Cooper fame is at Las Vegas Hilton through Sunday.
Scissor Sisters.
Filthy and gorgeous Scissor Sisters bring glam to The Pearl, country’s redneck woman Gretchen Wilson is at Silverton Casino Lodge, and K.C. & the Sunshine Band are at Eastside Cannery because that’s the way they like it, uh-huh, uh-huh.
Louise Richmond, Kerry Simon, Rick Hilton, Kathy Hilton, Faye Resnick, Michael Boychuck and Robin Leach.
It’s a dual birthday celebration for Mr. Vegas DeLuxe Robin Leach and hair stylist and colorist to the stars Michael Boychuck (yes, he is Paris Hilton’s longtime hair guru) at Blush in the Wynn. Expect celebrities and beautiful blondes because that is how Mr. Leach rolls. In a party across the street, Tara and Ericka from Ochocinco: Ultimate Catch are the hostesses with the mostesses at Jet in The Mirage.
The cast of Thunder From Down Under with Lorena Peril at Flair for the Cure at Rock & Rita's in Circus Circus on Aug. 18, 2010.
Fashion’s Night Out at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace features, among others, Rita Rudner, Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, Lorena Peril and her Fantasy Girls and the Aussie hunks of Thunder From Down Under. And for a creative way to release all that pent-up frustration and stress, join in Recycled Percussion’s show at Studio 54 in MGM Grand.
Saturday, Sept. 11
A moment of silence, please, on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., and the derailed plane hijacking in Pennsylvania. Thank you.
Sheryl Crow.
There are a lot of music options for tomorrow night. Grammy winner Sheryl Crow and The Thieves are at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel with singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile as part of her 100 Miles to Memphis Tour. Country music legend Willie Nelson is back on the road again at the Cannery, Patti LaBelle is at Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, Toad the Wet Sprocket is at Red Rock Resort, Collective Soul is at the Hard Rock Hotel pool, Smash Mouth is at Henderson Pavilion, and Creedence Clearwater Revisited, with Creedence Clearwater Revival founding members Stu Cook and Doug Clifford, is at The Orleans through Sunday.
Mario Lopez, accompanied by girlfriend Courtney Mazza, hosts at Liquid Pool Lounge in Aria on June 18, 2010.
Actor, Extra and Miss America Pageant host and all-around hunk Mario Lopez, forever A.C. Slater, celebrates his upcoming nuptials with a bachelor party at The Bank in the Bellagio, and VH1 cameras will be with his party to capture the last hurrah. Chanel from MTV’s Fantasy Factory hosts the afternoon at Venus Pool Club in Caesars Palace, and Geechy Guy, Todd Paul and Mickey Joseph kick off The Dirty Joke Show at Hooters Casino.
Sunday, Sept. 12
*It’s the debut of director Teller’s Play Dead, a theatrical thrill ride to hell and back presented by Todd Robbins featuring naked demons, darkness and bizarre illusions. The production by the nonspeaking member of Penn & Teller is at the Calypso Room at The Rio. Vegas DeLuxe will post an interview with Teller later today.
Holly Madison and Angel Porrino at XS in the Encore.
Next week
Louie Anderson’s Louie Anderson LOL kicks into high gear at Palace Station; Holly’s World star Angel Porrino debuts in Peepshow at Planet Hollywood on Monday as Holly Madison goes on vacation for one week; Dirty Nasty, aka Simon Rex, Andre Legacy and Beardo are the hosts with the mosts at Tao on Worship Thursdays; Margaret Cho -- one of my favorite all-time funny people -- is at The Pearl on Friday, Carlos Mencia is at Treasure Island on Friday, Don Henley is at Red Rock Resort on Saturday, and Michael Bolton is at Sunset Station on Saturday. Cho and Bolton are both in town the weekend before their Sept. 20 debut on Season 11 of Dancing With the Stars.
Check back Monday morning for the weekend celebrity recap, and happy stargazing.
