First Food & Bar in the Palazzo and chef Sam DeMarco have teamed up with UFL’s Las Vegas Locomotives' cheerleading team for a season kickoff party today from 7 to 10 p.m.
First will be decorated in the team’s colors, and DeMarco is featuring specially priced food and drink specials for the football- and train-themed evening, while the photo booth will be free to take a photograph with a cheerleader. Raffles will be held for prizes including dinner at First and tickets to Locos games. Their season kicks off Saturday as they take on the Florida Huskers.
*Azure Luxury Pool in the Palazzo is hosting a Bordeaux tasting featuring acclaimed wineries such as Chateau de Parenchere, Doyac Haut-Medoc and Chateau Vieux St. Andre, cheese bites and a DJ. Tickets for the 7 to 10 p.m. event Sept. 24 are $29, excluding taxes and fees ($24, excluding taxes and fees, for Las Vegas locals and Grazie members), and may be purchased at PalazzoLasVegas.com/festivino or at any Venetian or Palazzo box office.

*In honor of Vegetarian Awareness Month next month starting with World Vegetarian Day on Oct. 1, Origin India Restaurant & Bar is celebrating next month by offering 20 percent off its vegetarian items. “Indian food is popular among vegetarians because of the number of meatless options indigenous to our cuisine,” said Origin owner Raja Majid. “The menu at Origin India showcases the best of our meat-free choices, with all the robust flavors you’ve come to expect from Indian fare.”
Patrons of the James Beard Foundation dinner sample the cooking of Origin Indian chef Kuldeep Singh.
Vegetarian options include samosas, paneer tikka, Punjabi gram flour, vegetable dumplings in yogurt sauce, pani puri and lentil dumplings served with a yogurt, tamarind and mint sauce.
