Celebrity wrap-up: Perry, Minnillo and Goodwin party as single ladies

While Mexican Independence Day celebrations continued all weekend long in Las Vegas, three celebrities had another reason to celebrate while in Sin City: weddings. Singer Katy Perry, TV personality Vanessa Minnillo and actress Ginnifer Goodwin were all part of bachelorette groups in varying roles.

As the story and photo gallery posted yesterday details, superstar singer Perry celebrated her upcoming nuptials to British comedian and actor Russell Brand with a bachelorette weekend hosted by singer Rihanna -- who knew they are BFFs? Brand had a recent altercation with a paparazzo at LAX (the L.A. airport, not the Luxor nightspot), but it didn’t keep the California Gurl and Teenage Dream from celebrating with friends, including Barbados beauty Rihanna, who is sporting red locks for the moment.

Festivities kicked off Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel after check-in with a private cabana at HRH Beach Club. The ladies, in beach attire, enjoyed drinks, food and the requisite bachelorette-themed items. Then it was an Italian dinner at Ago, followed by an erotic cake delivered to their suite in Casino Tower and then off to Cirque du Soleil’s Ka at MGM Grand, where Perry and Rihanna went backstage and posed for photographs.

Perry, Rihanna and 15 of their friends continued the celebration at XS in the Encore. Detroit singer Mike Posner, crooner of “Cooler Than Me” and “Please Don’t Go,” joined the group. Perry wore a mini top hat with veil in her status as bride-to-be, and the group was at XS’ owner’s table, where they danced, partied and snapped photographs. The evening ended with adult fun at Sapphire.

Minnillo, TV personality and on-and-off girlfriend of Nick Lachey, checked in at The Venetian to a two-bedroom penthouse suite Friday with items for the bachelorette party weekend for friend Jennifer Birmingham, whom Minnillo has known for more than a decade. Saying “this room is perfect for the lingerie party I have planned,” she spent the afternoon decorating the suite with black and pink balloons and making gift bags for the bridesmaids.

The celebration continued with dinner at Lavo in the Palazzo on Friday night. The group toasted with Hpnotiq’s Bubbles and Blue cocktails and then headed upstairs to the boutique nightclub, where they danced the night away to DJ Cobra. The ladies spent Saturday at Azure Luxury Pool, with Minnillo and Birmingham in matching Hale Bob “Cabana” silk chiffon cover-ups, loose up do’s and oversized sunglasses in their private cabana, and they indulged in Wolfgang Puck food, Sweet Surrender cupcakes and mojito shots.

The evening kicked off at one of Minnillo’s favorite Mexican hotspots Dos Caminos, where the group enjoyed sangria, blueberry pomegranate margaritas and a champagne toast. Then it was David Spade’s sold-out show at The Venetian Showroom before ending the evening at Tao in The Venetian with a dance floor VIP table and DJ Vice. Joey Fatone and Spade stopped by to say hello and hang out. Fatone, in town to host the live The Price Is Right at Bally's, watched Blue Man Group at The Venetian last night.

HBO’s Big Love and He’s Just Not That Into You star Goodwin treated younger sister Melissa to a bachelorette weekend at the Palazzo. After a long day of filming, Goodwin arrived late Friday night to relax in her Siena Suite. The group of friends, including one who flew in from England to help celebrate, loved the suites, with Goodwin laughing, “They’re beside themselves with the rooms.”

The group went shopping at Barney’s New York at The Shoppes at The Palazzo on Saturday, with Goodwin in a white sundress and Givenchy sandals while her sister and she looked at handbags. After dropping off their shopping bags in their suites, the group, headed to Azure, where Melissa popped a bottle of bubby, and they toasted with Ciroc mojito shots.

Saturday night was dinner at Lavo, with Bubbles and Blue Hpnotiq cocktails and signature Italian favorites. They danced the night away upstairs to DJ Reach while sipping cocktails. Goodwin wore a nude ruffle blouse and black shorts, while the bride-to-be donned white Mickey Mouse ears with a veil.

In non-bachelorette party happenings …

Mexican Independence Day celebrations continued with the 20th anniversary of the Las Vegas International Mariachi Festival at The Rio that included Mariachi Los Camparos and Mariachi Vargas. A photo gallery from Tacos & Tequilas’ celebration featuring Lorena Peril and the Fantasy cast and Thunder From Down Under was posted Saturday. Newlyweds Nik Richie and Shayne Lamas hosted belated celebrations at Tabu Ultra Lounge in MGM Grand on Friday, as was posted Saturday. Vivica A. Fox dined with girlfriends at Tao. After dinner, they hit the nightclub where the actress, in a purple Alice & Olivia dress and matching Christian Louboutin heels, enjoyed wine during the girls night out.

After his concert at the House of Blues on Saturday, Posner headed to Blush in the Wynn to perform at the ultra lounge’s third anniversary party. Posner stood atop the bar and sang three songs, including his hit “Cooler Than Me.” After posing for photographs with fans, he headed across the casino resort to Surrender Nightclub to perform again. Denver Nuggets star Al Harrington was at a VIP table at Blush until 3 am.

Actress Amber Lancaster of MTV’s The Hard Times of R.J. Berger celebrated her birthday Saturday night at Tabu Ultra Lounge with her actor boyfriend Zack Conroy of CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful. After dinner at Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak in MGM Grand, Lancaster hit the red carpet with friends including Vienna Girardi of The Bachelor and R.J. Berger castmates Kara Taitz, Jareb Dauplaise and Alex Solowitz.

One of Maxim’s Hot 100, Lancaster wore a blue-gray satin ruffled cocktail dress with a rhinestone bustier top and matching sparkly pumps and was presented with a two-tier cake. Also at Tabu for the sounds of DJ Loczi: Ken Davitian from Borat and Barker’s Beauty pal Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith from Lancaster’s The Price Is Right days.

Two blonds wrap up this celebrity wrap-up. Superstar singer Carrie Underwood watched Spade’s show at The Venetian and posed for photographs. The newlywed was rumored to be in town for a private event at The Mirage. And as was posted yesterday, Magician of the Century Siegfried Fischbacher, without partner in crime Roy Horn, tapped the ceremonial keg at Hofbrauhaus to commence six weeks of Oktoberfest.
