Las Vegas’ Jay Cutler competes for fourth Mr. Olympia title at The Orleans

The Olympia Weekend is hailed as the most prestigious event in the world of bodybuilding, and for the next two days and nights, The Orleans Arena will be packed with rock-hard bodies, magnificent muscles, astonishing abs and terrific torsos. It’s the fifth consecutive year at The Orleans for Mr. Olympia hosted by the International Federation of Bodybuilders Professional League.

Winning the event is regarded as the highest accolade in the sport, and three-time and current Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler of Las Vegas is competing to defend his title. He has strong competition this year in Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Dexter Jackson and Branch Warren each seeking the title.

There’s a parallel Ms. Olympia contest with former winner Iris Kyle, Figure Olympia Nicole Lee and Fitness Olympia Adela Garcia all returning to defend their titles. And there are even more beautiful women onstage when the Bikini Olympia division is debuted. Preliminary judging of Mr. Olympia, Ms. Olympia and Fitness is set for 7 p.m. today, and then tomorrow at 7 p.m. is the Mr. Olympia and Ms. Olympia finals.

Las Vegas is inundated with fitness folks this weekend. In addition to Olympia and the giant Interbike convention for mountain rider enthusiasts, there’s also a mass health and fitness meet at the Convention Center, and that’s where Wilhelmina, one of the most prestigious modeling agencies in the world, is hosting the Hot Body Model Search. Wilhelmina represents such talent as Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, Estelle, Cyndi Lauper ad supermodels Gabriel Aubry and Mark Vanderloo.

The contest is open to men and women 18 and older who live healthy and fit lifestyles. Ten finalists will be invited to New York for judging, and one female and one male will be selected for a five-year modeling contract with New York- headquartered Wilhelmina. They also become instant cover stars on Shape and Men’s Fitness.
