Las Vegas’ ties to Top Chef and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Las Vegas, and specifically the Palms, receives a lot of exposure in Bravo’s new The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The reality TV series debuts Oct. 14, and we’re already hearing some of the outrageous tidbits.

The series features Adrienne Maloof, who co-owns several Maloof family entertainment businesses, including the Palms and the Sacramento Kings. She talks in the premiere about being a Democrat while her husband is a Republican, which is sure to ignite sparks this election season. (Incidentally, Adrienne’s brother, Palms mogul George Maloof, recently endorsed Nevada Sen. Harry Reid for re-election.)

Also on the show are Paris Hilton’s aunts Kim and Kyle Richards, who reportedly were never afraid to put the heiress in her place. Actor Kelsey Grammer’s recently divorced wife Camille exacts some revenge on her ex by revealing that his Frasier cast begged her to make him wear underwear when he rehearsed in a dressing gown!

She candidly admits that she had a surrogate give birth to their two children so that her body would remain fit and has four nannies in rotating shifts taking care of them for her. One opening near-breast-baring scene features the ladies enjoying their champagne on a private flight from Beverly Hills to California’s state capital to watch a Kings game.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills follows in the footsteps of series in Orange County, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.

Marcel Vigneron may not have come home with the $100,000, but his foams, attitude and Wolverine-like hairdo certainly made an impression on Season 2 of Top Chef.

Top Chef

Marcel Vigneron, the former master cook at Joel Robuchon’s MGM Grand restaurant, is one of 18 chefs returning from previous episodes of Top Chef for the Season 8 all-star edition. Anthony Bourdain and Gail Simmons are serving as the judges, with Jimmy Fallon as a guest star.

The premiere night is Dec. 1 and includes shoots at Whole Foods. Marcel, who was the runner-up in Season 2 of Top Chef, also is known for having been assaulted by a viewer while in a California nightclub and was arrested for speeding and DUI in Laguna Beach, Calif., two years ago.
