Another weekend in Las Vegas is over, and there’s more undercover news to report!
Wicked whispers & racy rumors
It looks as if the nightclub at the Cosmopolitan opening New Year’s Eve will be named Marquee after the successful Manhattan nightclub owned by the partners of Tao and Lavo. The 63,000-square-feet indoor and outdoor venue to be open 18 hours a day reportedly cost more than $50 million. DJ Erick Morillo blasts off the Dec. 31 grand opening and stays on with an exclusive monthly residency. We already reported ahead of everybody that Jay-Z and Coldplay are the Cosmopolitan’s NYE concert headliners. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has been signed to host the New Year’s Eve bash at Tao in The Venetian.
2010 Miss Nevada USA Julianna Erdesz.
Blush operator Sean Christie quickly put to rest weekend rumors that rival XS managers at the Wynn and Encore were having a trial run there for future daytime parties. I was told the information was incorrect and that he is on property running Encore Beach Club. His Surrender remains open Wednesday through Saturday evenings and uses EBC as weather permits. The hunt for the 2011 Miss Nevada USA and Miss Nevada Teen USA has begun with Nov. 14 as pageant night here. The winners go on to the Miss USA Pageant run by mogul Donald Trump set for April here on The Strip again.
*Congratulations to San Diego optician Melany Lorenzo, who was named Miss Playboy Club October last night at The Playboy Club. Melany, who moonlights as a model, will appear in The Playboy Club calendar and gets a shot at a Playboy layout.

*For the second consecutive year, I’ve agreed to be a judge for the Nightclub & Bar Awards, which recognize the best U.S. nightclubs, bar concepts and operations. Nominations are accepted through Nov. 5 . The 14 category winners will be profiled in the March issue of Nightclub & Bar, with a celebration at the 2011 Nightclub Trade Show here. We’ll judge Nov. 15-24, and this year Dayclub of the Year has been added, plus eight specific Las Vegas Nightclub Award categories.
*Call it a fashion show where fetish and flirt footwear are part of the costumes and toys. It’s the three-day International Lingerie and Halloween Show starting today at The Rio. Hustler mogul Larry Flynt is here to launch his rebel lingerie line. There’s a lot of emphasis this year on paint-on liquid latex Halloween costumes and an underground fashion exhibit featuring vampire TV and film costumes. This is where retailers shop for masks, whips, ticklers and spankers.
Star surveillance
During her Las Vegas visit, Jersey Shore star Jenni “JWoww” Farley joined UFC star Brock Lesnar to tour the exhibits at the Mr. Olympia Expo in the Las Vegas Convention center. Mindfreak magician Criss Angel was the guest speaker at the Women’s Cancer Center of Nevada Ovarian Cancer Event to mark September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Actress Raven-Symone and two Cheetah Girls watched Cher at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace. Afterward, Raven dined at Tao in The Venetian with her boyfriend before heading upstairs to the nightclub. UFC star Chuck Liddell also partied at Tao. UFC fighter Rich Franklin hung out at Noir Bar in LAX. Entrepreneur and The Apprentice winner Bill Rancic is a fan of Sushi Samba in his Chicago hometown, so when he heads here, he always stays at the Palazzo so that he can dine at the Sushi Samba here.
Austin "Chumlee" Russell and Corey Harrison at Rain in the Palms.
Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison and Austin “Chumlee” Russell of Pawn Stars dined with nine friends at N9NE Steakhouse in the Palms. The group headed to Rain after a big meal washed down with Fiji Water and espressos. Pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler of MTV’s Life of Ryan also dined at N9NE. Actor and comedian Dax Shepard relaxed by reading a book poolside at Palms Pool & Bungalows. Motorsports stars Travis Pastrana celebrated his birthday with friends at Moon, where Rich Franklin was part of the crowd.

Hip-hop artist Phillip Bernard, better known as Grafh, partied at The Playboy Club with six friends, including MMA fighter Jay Hieron. Actress Rachael Leigh Cook celebrated a bachelorette party at Blush in the Wynn. The group continued their celebration at Surrender in the Encore dancing to the music of resident DJ Aoki.

Tonight’s tips
The 2010 worldwide tour for Band of Horses rides into The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel as they celebrate their third full length LP Infinite Arms. The band’s concert here comes on the heels of their soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and the North American Pearl Jam Tour, in which Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds were a supporting act. Celebrity chef Charlie Palmer’s chefs and stunning maitre d’ Laurie Wolff host the live jazz and blues barbecue Jig Saw Jam to benefit an autism charity at Four Seasons steakhouse. Comedians Joe Yannetty, Tony Camin and Jean-Pierre Parent are at the Riviera Comedy Club through Sunday. It’s the official launch of American Superstars’ new lineup at the Stratosphere with a Lady Gaga tribute and the addition of former Fantasy singer Katie Dix as the new Carrie Underwood. There’s a pair of kings with Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley impersonators, and master fiddler Johnny Potash duplicates Charlie Daniels to a T.
Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani on Season 11 of ABC's Dancing With the Stars on Sept. 20, 2010.
Tomorrow’s teases
We’ll have the overnight action photographs from the dance floor of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and a preview of what to expect at the 11th anniversary celebration of Fantasy at the Luxor as the 12 beauties unveil not only their clothes but also their 2011 calendar.
