One of my least favorite tasks in journalism is having to trim a colleague’s work, whether it’s a wonderful story that has to be cut for space, or, in this instance, a photo gallery that needs to be sliced and diced for editorial purposes.

Erik Kabik has been one of Vegas DeLuxe’s most prolific and hardest-working contributing photojournalists this year, and he submitted 51 beautiful images that were painstakingly trimmed to 30 for this year-in-review photo gallery.

Thirty, 51 or 151 images, Kabik’s photographs speak for themselves, and each month is represented. Our biggest thanks to all the photographers who have been part of Vegas DeLuxe’s success in 2011.

Incidentally, one newsmaker, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, and two Playboy favorites, Holly Madison and Claire Sinclair, make Kabik’s final photo gallery twice. Coincidence? I think not … this is Las Vegas, after all.
